Easy Halloween Play Dough Jars

Halloween play dough in a jar makes a festive treat that won’t break the bank.

I love making these little Halloween Play-Dough Boo Jars each Fall, and I know you will too.

All you need are some jars, play dough (you can make it or buy it), and a few Halloween-themed loose parts (Scroll to the bottom of the post for links).

I made some orange Halloween playdough using the same recipe I have been using for over 20 years.

RECIPE:

  1. Combine 1 cup flour, 1/2 cup salt, and 2 teaspoons of cream of tartar in a large saucepan.

  2. Gradually stir in 1 cup water mixed with 2 tablespoons oil and 1 teaspoon orange food coloring.

  3. Cook over medium to high heat, stirring constantly until a ball forms.

  4. Remove from heat, cool, and knead while it is still warm to the touch. I doubled the recipe to make 4 jars of Halloween playdough.

Not up for making it? No Problem. This orange dough is just as wonderful.

How to Assemble:

Stuff jars a little more than halfway with the Halloween playdough, and fill your baggie with loose parts. Attach a little note up top! (we used these pumpkins).

Add in a small baggie of Halloween accessories. The dollar store is a great resource for these items, but I have linked them here to Amazon for your convenience.

(These are affiliate links, which means I get a small kickback from Amazon, and it costs you nothing. Thank you for supporting The Workspace for Children.)
