Stickers and Tape Activity

IMG_1093.jpg

Looking for an activity that is for all ages? I know how hard it is to set up three different activities for three different kids. Don’t do it! You will burn yourself out real fast.

Instead, try using materials that are open-ended and can be used by all ages. Your child can use reinvent the material, according to his own age and developmental stage.

What you need:⁣
Paper, stickers, painters tape, crayons or pencils, and trays.

Step One:

PREP⁣- Roll out some paper or tape some smaller ones together to make a big canvas for a family mural.

Secure it to the table or to the floor with a bit of tape.

For the little ones you are going to tear small pieces of tape and stick it to the rim of the tray or plate.  They’ll be able to grab tape independently and won’t get frustrated waiting for you to cut it for them.

Cut your stickers into strips and peel off the outer backing.  This makes it easy for small fingers to peel independently.

Leave everything intact for the older children. They can peel and cut independently.

Put out some crayons or pencils. Organize it in a way that looks inviting.⁣

Step Two: PLAY⁣
Invite your children to create with you.

You will be amazed how much fun and creativity comes from a simple roll of tape and stickers.

The big kids can create alongside the little ones.

Encourage creativity and thinking outside the box! They can make their own rules. ⁣

Step Three: EXTEND⁣
Did your kids love this activity? Do it on repeat. You can switch it up by drawing simple shapes on the paper and letting the children fill them using patterns and designs.  You can draw basic people and let your children design their outfits! Follow their lead. ⁣
