Sitting out Prime Day

I’ve gotten a bunch of DMs and emails asking me where my toy lists for prime day are, and here is my honest answer…

It’s Prime Day, and I’m sitting it out

Not to make a statement, just because this month, I needed to feel okay.

That’s it.

I’m not against the deals. I’m not here to judge the creators showing up hard today. I’m not trying to make some big stand against consumerism. I’m just a person who took a breath and realized: this year, I don’t have it in me to hustle for clicks.

And it wasn’t an easy choice. Affiliate marketing helps fund the hours I spend writing, creating, and showing up here. It helps me paywall fewer posts and take more time with this community.

The holidays are coming. I’ll be publishing gift guides because that is part of my job, and I love creating them for you. I love the messages I receive every holiday season with images of your children playing with the gifts I recommended. What I love even more is getting those messages in the Spring and into the Summer with messages telling me that they loved the gift on Christmas morning, but more importantly, they are still playing with it months and years later.

My holiday guides won’t be a random list of flash deals.
They’ll come with purpose, rooted in child development, years of parenting, and play expertise.
They won’t scream, “Buy this because it’s on sale, and if you don’t, you’ll regret it.”
They’ll sound more like, “Here’s why this might actually matter for your kid, here’s an idea that you can make your own.”

Because thoughtful recs are helpful. Panic-pushing? Not so much.

It’s kind of like this:

Some mornings, I say to cinnamon buns and sugar cereal for breakfast, not because I don’t believe in nutrition, but because some days, protecting our peace matters more than arguing about food choices.
Other days, I lead with protein, fat, and fiber like it’s my job because that’s important too.

We’re allowed to ebb and flow.
To not be one kind of parent or creator all the time.
To opt out of the rush without needing to explain it.

I’ve done the Prime Day hustle. I’ll probably even do it again! I’ve made the spreadsheets, stayed up late pulling links, and done the thing.

But today, for me?
Less hustle. More quiet. More breath.

I’m a mom in a world that feels like it’s constantly on fire.
A mom whose heart races more than it should.
And skipping the online frenzy of Prime Day is one small choice I’m making to help it race a little less.

If you’re in that place too, or feel like you might need to be, this is your reminder: you don’t have to make it a statement. You can just make a choice.

In a world where everything feels urgent and loud, your impact doesn’t have to be constant or grand. Sometimes, the quiet choices matter just as much.

Thanks for being here.
